I love food. Both cooking it and eating it.
The only things I don't like are raw celery, grapefruit, oysters and tarragon.

Adventurous, if a little chaotic cook. Like cooking well because I like eating well! Very rarely follow an entire recipe but use them for guidance and inspiration. Often substitute things!

I love cooking! I am a pescetarian so mainly cook veg and fish. My specialty is probably italian. I would love to make desserts more but I would worry that I would become a fatty by eating them all the time:) I love thai food and am starting to cook this more often now.

My absolute favourite type of food is Japanese. However, I am also interested in the culinary history of Great Britain, and in discovering regional specialities. I'm trying to make more of an effort to shop and cook locally and seasonally... Would like to discover more about food / market events local to me. Am also rather keen on my wines and beers...

I love fine food and wine and lots of it.

I enjoy flicking through my recipe books with a glass of wine then closing them and cooking from inspiration mixing ideas and layering flavours.
I particularly like spicy and aromatic dishes west indian, thai, asian and chinese. I also do a great roast. Haven't yet mastered the art of yorkies though.

I trained as a cook at Leiths in London in the 80s. Since then I've travelled a lot and managed to cook alongside locals wherever I've been - Ecuador, Java, Nepal, Maroc, Croatia etc. I'ved owned restaurants in Sydney & Helsinki; catering companies in London & Helsinki; managed & cooked in a restaurant in Gibraltar. I grew up, sadly, & am now an academic, but foodways are a research focus. I avoid e-numbers & prepare most of what we eat from scratch - cheese excepted. And, um, my berry wines have never proved a hit, not even with me, and I'll drink (and eat) most things. 'Commensality' - eating (and drinking) together - is the one of the best bits of living.

I love everything to do with food - from food production to all types of cooking and of course eating! Whilst I would like to think myself an expert I think it is more likely that I am an intermediate cook and perhaps an expert eater! I enjoy experimenting with different ingredients, throwing them together and creating new recipes.
I'm looking forward to meeting other foodies to broaden my experience, discover inspiring recipes and make new acquaintances
