Ingredients:
 6 tbsp(s) marg
 225 gm(s) self raising flour
 1 tbsp(s) sugar
 1 dessert apple (peeled cored,chopped)
 1 egg beaten
 2 tbsp(s) black treacle
 5 tbsp(s) milk
 pinch salt
light delicate flavour

Cooking Steps:
Preheat oven 220c/425f/gas mark 7.Grease baking tray.Sieve flour sugar& salt into a bowl.Add butter, rub in until it resembles fine breadcrumbs.Stir in chopped apple.Mix together egg & treacle,pour into dry ingredients.Mix well add enough milk to form a soft dough(not too wet or it wont roll out)On a floured board roll out (2cm-3/4 inch thickness) cut out 8/10 scones using 5cm/2 inch cutter(I dont have one so I used a cup )Put scones on baking tray & bake for about 8-15 mins(depends on size)Put on wire rack to cool slightly before scoffing ,with of course butter.
